The Pocklington Canal Amenity Society
Galaxy Hot Chocolate Fund
The Pocklington Canal Amenity Society, Pocklington, East Yorkshire
The Society helps to care for the historic canal that runs for 9 miles from Pocklington in East Yorkshire. The charity (number 500637) was set up in 1969 to help in the protection and restoration of the waterway. We are currently working on Thornton lock as part of a larger restoration project of two miles on the canal. The overall aims of the charity are to encourage use of the restored canal care for boating, wildlife enthusiasts, walkers and anyone who cares to enjoy this idyllic place.
We need to purchase more bricks and mortar to complete repairs on Thornton Lock near the village of Melbourne. The repairs are being undertaken by volunteers from the Society.
